Missouri-based VINCUE, a vehicle lifecycle management software company, has announced VINCUE Protos, an AI-first upgrade it calls “the new foundation” of its platform.

More importantly: Protos Intelligence, the new AI layer that runs on that foundation, includes 11 AI agents that each handle a different piece of the vehicle lifecycle.

  • The launch was announced at VINCUE’s UNLEASHED26 event last week in Kansas City.

  • The company says it chose the name Protos because it means “first” in Greek, reflecting its belief that “what comes first makes what comes next possible.”

The company says the agents, which “never clock out,” are organized into four areas: Plan, Buy, Manage, and Sell.

  • Plan has two agents, Replenishment and Source Performance, focused on what to stock and where to source it.

  • Buy has four agents: Appraisal CoPilot, Service Lane, Appraise Not Acquired, and Missed Opportunities. They help dealerships spot and capture vehicle acquisition opportunities, from guiding appraisals in real time to catching trade-ins and buys they previously missed.

  • Manage has four agents: Pricing & Merchandising, Retail Ready, Disposition, and Feed Integrity. They cover used-vehicle inventory management, including pricing, reconditioning, aging-unit decisions, and listing data accuracy.

  • Sell has one agent, Follow Through, which the company describes as closing the loop on customer leads, test drives, and active deals.

“Protos Intelligence [...] reads over two thousand known signals per VIN that impact appraisal, pricing, and merchandising decisions,” according to the news release. “That includes your pricing against the market, your marketing performance from VDP views to leads to test drives, your recon, your appraisals, and your sales activity. It does this continuously, so when you’re ready to work, it already knows what needs you.”

What we’re watching: Protos Intelligence is currently in the launch phase, open to 100 rooftops initially. VINCUE said feedback gathered during this phase will guide improvements based on what dealers share with the team.

For dealers, though, the test of any tool like this is likely to come down to whether the recommendations are accurate enough to act on, whether the tool saves time instead of adding another screen, and whether it adapts to a store’s own rules and market.

VINCUE says the tools measure findings against each store’s own playbook, including its definition of aged and its pricing thresholds, so how well that customization holds up in practice will be worth following.

Blue sky multiples tell you what the market thinks a franchise is worth.

They don’t tell you what’s driving the revenue underneath.

That’s where the Franchise Horsepower Index comes in, one of the proprietary tools in the Haig Report®, offering our take on the data shaping today’s buy-sell market.

This quarter, Lexus, BMW, Toyota, and Mercedes-Benz posted scores more than double the market average.
