Toyota slashes bZ4X price by $6,000 for 2025 model year

The bZ4X’s updates are as much about optics as they are about value. (1 min. read)

Toyota’s bZ4X is getting a reset for 2025. A lower price, fresh options, and new tech are designed to make the electric SUV a real contender as competition in the EV market heats up.

Driving the news:

  • The bZ4X’s starting MSRP is now $38,465, down $6,000 from the 2024 model. The Limited trim sees a similar cut, dropping $5,380 to $43,195.

  • For buyers, it’s a more accessible entry point into Toyota’s electric lineup at a time when high EV prices are turning some consumers away.

  • For Toyota, the message is clear — they need to stay in the EV fight with or without federal tax credits.

Worth noting: Toyota is also leaning hard into EV leasing incentives. While the sticker price dropped, they’re also offering up to $10,000 in lease deals for the bZ4X in certain markets.

More details

  • The Nightshade Edition joins the lineup with blacked-out wheels, trim, and sporty red stitching inside.

  • Toyota is also adding standard Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, and Front Cross-Traffic Alert to the Limited trim.

  • The vehicle has 252 miles of range for the front-wheel drive models and 222-236 miles for AWD trims — still behind top competitors like the Tesla Model Y.

The big picture: Tesla and Hyundai, among others, have been aggressive with pricing and incentives all year. Forcing a battling between automakers to make EVs pencil out financially for consumers.
