Subaru is holding pricing on many of its new Forester SUVs to help address affordability pressures facing buyers, while ushering in its new Wilderness Hybrid model.

The details: The 2027 Subaru Forester and 2027 Forester Hybrid start at $29,995 MSRP and $34,730 MSRP, respectively, both unchanged from the popular outgoing models, with pricing for several other variants in the lineup remaining intact as well.

  • The Forester Sport Hybrid—which includes 19-inch wheels with a dark metallic finish, black accents and badging, and low-profile roof rails—starts at $37,930 MSRP, the same price as the outgoing model year.

  • The Forester Limited Hybrid—which features a 12.3-inch full digital gauge cluster, Harman Kardon speaker system and reverse automatic braking—costs $38,995, also unchanged from the outgoing model.

  • The top-of-the-line Forester Touring Hybrid—which adds 19-inch dark gray machine-finish wheels, ventilated front seats and a 360-degree Surround View Monitor—starts at $41,545 MSRP, the same price as the outgoing model as well.

Why it matters: Subaru’s decision to hold pricing on key 2027 Forester models could provide another boost to the SUV’s sales, which were up 17.8% in August and 15.1% year-to-date, giving dealers another key selling point for cost-conscious buyers.

Zooming in: The first Forester Wilderness Hybrid adds an entirely new model to the lineup, with 9.3 inches of ground clearance, all-terrain tires, and enhanced underbody protection.

  • The new addition to Subaru’s portfolio, which features many of the same features as the standard Forester Wilderness, starts at $40,495 MSRP.

  • The fully gas-powered 2027 Forester Wilderness—which now includes last year's popular optional equipment package as standard—costs $39,495.

Bottom line: Subaru is pairing stable pricing on key Forester models with an expanded hybrid lineup, giving dealers more options to reach budget-focused buyers while building on the SUV’s recent sales momentum and broadening its appeal to customers looking for more fuel-efficient and off-road-capable offerings.
