Driving the news: Stellantis dealers whose websites are not in compliance with the manufacturer’s guidelines received infraction letters on July 10, the company confirmed to CDG News.
For context: No changes were made to the existing rules, according to Stellantis. The infraction, instead, gives those not in compliance a July 31 deadline to clean up their sites.
A dealer who received the notice, but wished to remain anonymous, sent CDG News the company’s 27-page website guidelines and highlighted some of the requirements.
According to the document, third-party tool guides include:
All links on a dealer’s website must remain within the dealer site environment.
Exceptions: Social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube), approved Stellantis sites/materials, and charity/local events.
Third-party plug-in tools are allowed if they do not collect leads or unapproved website data.
Non-certified tools or services that violate these rules must be removed or replaced within 10 business days of Stellantis Digital notification.
If the dealership does not remove them within 10 business days, Stellantis Digital Support may remove them directly.

What they’re saying: “These are elements of Stellantis’ current Certified Digital Program Guidelines, aimed at providing a positive and consistent customer online shopping experience for customers,” a company spokesperson said via email.
“We work with our providers to ensure that the services they provide help our dealers comply with local and federal advertising requirements.”
Bottom line: With all sorts of compliance changes and enforcement coming from the FTC, dealers will need to make sure their operations are in order.
