Mark Miller Subaru’s three strict rules for successful one-price selling

Mark Miller Subaru ended price negotiations more than a decade ago, and in doing so, rewired the entire sales floor.

Today, deal times that once dragged two to three hours now wrap in as little as 30–45 minutes. And dealer Jeff Miller’s sales team averages 14–16 cars a month (versus the industry’s 8–12), and turnover is virtually nonexistent.

How it works: There are three simple rules that nobody gets to break….

  1. No price negotiations. No exceptions.

  2. No trade-in over-allowances or under-allowances are tolerated.

  3. No F&I manipulation trying to extract maximum profit.

Big picture: And while customers tested the system constantly at first, Miller stayed consistent, building credibility over time instead of caving for quick deals.

Hyundai commits to 80% U.S. production by 2030, cuts profit outlook

Hyundai is betting that deeper U.S. manufacturing will drive growth even amid tariff uncertainty.

The plan: Build more than 80% of U.S.-sold vehicles locally by 2030, up from about 40% today.

  • Which could insulate Hyundai from tariff shocks, speed delivery, and strengthen supply for dealers.

  • Although, trade tensions between the U.S. and South Korea remain in the background.

For dealers, this likely means stronger U.S. supply chains, faster turnaround on new models, and less exposure if tariffs stick around long term.

Automotive tech CEOs clash over AI’s future role in the BDC

There’s no doubt that AI is already reshaping dealership departments, but the automotive tech CEOs hoping to lead that transformation remain divided on just how much it will redefine operations.

  • Dealers are already seeing inbound call volume cut nearly in half as AI takes over routine lead handling and appointment-setting.

  • And instead of chasing voicemails and missed calls, staff are being redeployed into outbound demand generation and higher-value customer work.

The result: Leaner operations, stronger margins, and a department that looks nothing like it did a few years ago.

Ram officially cancels upcoming EV pickup model citing slow demand

The electric truck, first unveiled as a CES 2023 concept, had already seen two launch delays before being canceled outright.

But Ram isn’t alone…

Dodge has already pushed back the R/T trim of its Charger Daytona to 2026 while reintroducing gas-powered variants, and an all-electric Chrysler crossover has been placed on hold.

The takeaway: The decision is likely to resonate with Stellantis’ U.S. dealers, many of whom have been pushing for the company to align more closely with customer demand on ICE products.

Jaguar Land Rover faces weeks of production delays caused by cyberattack

Jaguar Land Rover’s cyberattack fallout keeps growing, forcing a third straight week of halted production.

The details: JLR has told employees, suppliers, and partners operations will remain paused until Sept. 24, though insiders warn it could stretch into November.

And the financial damage is mounting…

  • About 1,000 vehicles a week are going unbuilt.

  • And analysts estimate the pause could hit profits by £120M ($163M).

The signal: Cyberattacks are now a front-line threat for automakers, where global supply chains and IT-heavy production amplify every disruption.
