Kia has announced pricing for its EV3, aiming to position the new SUV as one of the most affordable electric vehicles on the market while appealing to a broad range of buyers.

The details: The EV3, which offers up to 321 miles of all-electric range, is available in several trims, ranging from the entry-level Light to the "spirited" GT, according to a Kia press release.

  • The base EV3 Light FWD starts at $29,890 MSRP, excluding the $1,495 destination charge.

  • The EV3 Wind FWD and Wind AWD are priced at $34,990 and $38,690, respectively, plus destination.

  • The EV3 Land FWD and Land AWD are priced at $38,490 and $41,690, respectively, excluding the $1,495 destination charge.

  • The top-of-the-line EV3 GT is priced at $45,890, plus destination.

Why it matters: With a starting price below $30,000 and more than 300 miles of available range, the EV3 gives Kia dealers a lower-cost entry point for reaching EV-curious buyers who may have been priced out of the segment, potentially helping broaden the addressable market for electric vehicles.

Adding to this: The all-electric SUV is designed to meet the lifestyle and practical needs of both younger and older buyers, targeting EV intenders as well as first-time electric vehicle shoppers.

  • It features a built-in NACS charging port for greater charging compatibility and can recharge from 10% to 80% in approximately 31 minutes with a DC fast charger.

  • An available Nightfall Package adds black exterior accents, unique 19-inch black wheels, bridge-type roof rails and a dark gray interior.

  • Other available features include a 360° Surround View, Blind-Spot View Monitor, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.

What they’re saying: "As the most affordable EV in Kia’s lineup, the EV3 is designed to expand electric vehicle adoption by delivering EV9-inspired design, advanced technology, and everyday practicality in a small SUV package,” Kia America spokesperson James Hope told CDG News via email. “With a starting MSRP below $30,000 (not including destination), the EV3 gives EV-intenders and first-time EV shoppers an attainable, practical, right-sized SUV with an array of benefits."

Bottom line: The EV3's combination of sub-$30,000 pricing, competitive range, and broad trim selection gives Kia dealers a more accessible EV offering at a time when affordability remains a major barrier to adoption, potentially helping the brand attract first-time EV buyers and expand its share of the segment.
