Driving the news: Ken Garff Automotive Group purchased a dealership in South Jordan, Utah, from Susan Watkins in a deal that closed June 8.
For context: Volkswagen Southtowne sits about 15 miles south of Salt Lake City.
The dealership was renamed Ken Garff Volkswagen Southtowne.
Ken Garff Automotive, of Salt Lake City, sold a Nissan dealership on June 16. The VW deal marks the group’s first acquisition this year.
David Ibarra of Live Ready Dealer Exchange Brokering facilitated the transaction.
Worth noting: Watkins bought the dealership with her late husband Tom in 1989. Her father, Ray Stout, managed a Ken Garff Oldsmobile store and worked closely with Ken and Bob Garff, according to a company announcement.
