Driving the news: Chrysler is recalling 178,246 Pacifica and Voyager minivans after finding that side curtain airbags may not seal properly, meaning they could fail to fully inflate during a crash and increase the risk of passengers being ejected through a side window, according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Per the NHTSA: The recall covers 2022–2026 Chrysler Pacifica (154,367 vehicles) and 2022–2026 Chrysler Voyager (23,879 vehicles).

  • There are no warning signs owners can look out for ahead of a failure.

The remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace one or both side curtain airbags for free.

Owner letters are said to go out between May 14 and 19. and owners can check their VIN starting April 2.

Worth noting: Vehicles previously repaired under a related recall may still need an additional air bag replacement.
