Driving the news: Morrie’s Automotive Group entered Nebraska with an acquisition from fourth-generation owners Carey (Beardmore) Hamilton and her husband, Brian Hamilton, of Beardmore Auto Group. The deal closed April 9.

For context: Beardmore Subaru, Beardmore Hyundai, and Beardmore Chevrolet are all in Bellevue, Nebraska, about 10 miles south of Omaha.

  • The stores were renamed Bellevue Subaru, Morrie’s Bellevue Hyundai and Morrie’s Bellevue Chevrolet.

  • Kerrigan Advisors represented the sellers in the transaction.

  • Morrie’s Automotive, of Minnetonka, Minnesota, owns more than 30 dealerships in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Illinois. It retailed more than 46,000 vehicles in 2025, Kerrigan Advisors said.

  • Beardmore Auto Group, founded in 1919 by Carey Hamilton’s grandfather, Maurice “Moe” Beardmore, commands 35% of the auto retail market in the Bellevue area of Omaha, according to Kerrigan Advisors.

What they’re saying: The Hamiltons called the decision to sell bittersweet in a release. Their daughter Hilary Hamilton wrote in a story for The Bellevue Times that she recognized early that her mother’s feat of leading a dealership was rare.

  • “Throughout the years, I would have many friends and women in the community tell me that my mother had been a great inspiration to them in the decisions and goals that they would later make in their own lives,” Hilary Hamilton wrote.

Bottom line: Omaha is one of the Midwest’s most attractive non-luxury auto markets, according to Kerrigan Advisors.

“High-performing, non-luxury franchises in growth markets with strong regional market share are attracting significant buyer interest,” Chris Gempton, senior vice president at Kerrigan Advisors, said in a release.
