Krause Auto Group acquires Florida Volvo store for $13.5M

CDG News Alert (< 1 min. read)

Driving the news: Krause Auto Group just scooped up McGrath Volvo Cars of Fort Myers and its sprawling 9-acre property for $13.5 million, marking their fourth dealership in Lee County.

The details: The location will be renamed Volvo Cars Fort Myers and undergo showroom renovations by early 2026.

Why it matters: Starting with a single Georgia location in 1991, Krause now operates 29 dealerships across multiple states. And this latest acquisition shows the group’s determined push into the lucrative South Florida market.

  • Earlier this year, Krause purchased two Nissan dealerships in Palm Beach County from auto mogul Terry Taylor for $30.5 million.

  • By targeting both “premium” brands like Volvo and “volume sellers” like Nissan, they're creating a diversified portfolio that can weather market fluctuations.

What we're watching: Consolidation in auto retail continues, and regional players are rapidly scaling up to stay competitive.
