Driving the news: Stellantis $STLA ( ▼ 1.65% ) just confirmed the next-gen Jeep Cherokee is coming later this year, featuring a brand-new hybrid powertrain option and a fresh position between the Compass and Grand Cherokee.

Worth noting: The current Compass starts around $27K, and the Grand Cherokee closer to $36K, but both can climb significantly depending on trim and options. Knowing that, the new Cherokee will likely fall somewhere in the low-to-mid $30K range, with final pricing dependent on trim and specs.

Why it matters: Jeep pulled the Cherokee from the lineup in 2023. And this reboot looks like a strategic reset, aimed at reentering the hybrid midsize game with stronger pricing and volume potential.

For now: The brand is calling 2025 a “historic year” for product and pricing. If that holds, the next-gen Cherokee could shape up to be a key volume driver heading into next year.
