Hendrick Automotive Group is opening S.C.’s first Ineos Grenadier dealership

Ineos Grenadier

Driving the news: It’s the first Ineos location for Hendrick—the nation’s largest privately held auto group—and the rugged SUV brand’s debut in the state.

For context: The Ineos Grenadier is a BMW-powered, European-built off-roader modeled after the classic Land Rover Defender.

  • It’s priced from $78,900, and pitched as a utilitarian alternative to the G-Wagon, Bronco, and Defender.

  • And Charleston was a natural launchpad, with a strong 4x4 culture and high interest in vintage Defender-style builds.

It’s a strategic move for Hendrick: The Grenadier uniquely positions the group in the high-demand off-road segment with a premium, utility-focused SUV—offering buyers the luxury experience without months-long waitlists or six-figure price tags.

What we’re watching: Hendrick’s new Ineos store will soon move into the renovated Cavallaro building, with factory-trained techs already on-site to support early adopters.
