Driving the news: Ford $F ( ▲ 3.38% ) is recalling 229,609 Bronco and Bronco Sport vehicles from model years 2025-2026 after discovering that instrument panel cluster screens may go blank at startup, leaving drivers without access to critical safety information.

The details: The recall affects 128,607 Bronco Sports and 101,002 Broncos equipped with SX2 Digital Instrument Panel Clusters supplied by Visteon.

  • The problem stems from a software glitch where a CAN wakeup interrupt can occur during the cluster's sleep entry sequence within a narrow timeframe, triggering a memory protection fault that leaves the screen blank.

  • Ford is aware of 12 warranty claims potentially related to this issue, with the first received on May 15, 2025.

  • No accidents or injuries have been reported.

The remedy: Ford will update the instrument panel cluster software at no charge, with the fix also available over the air. Dealer notifications go out November 24, 2025, and owner letters will be mailed between December 8-12. Owners can check if their VIN is affected at NHTSA.gov/recalls or by calling Ford at 1-866-436-7332.
