Driving the news: Crown Auto Group purchased a Subaru store from longtime owner David Weaver in a deal that closed June 24.
For context: Crown purchased Wheeling Volkswagen-Subaru, a dealership selling those two brands, in that West Virginia city.
Wheeling, West Virginia, is about three hours northeast of the state’s capital of Charleston, where Crown Auto is based. The group also owns dealerships in Pennsylvania.
The dealership, snuggled among the mountains off of U.S. 40, was renamed Crown Subaru and Crown Volkswagen.
The Tim Lamb Group represented the seller.

What they’re saying: In a Facebook post, Weaver said the dealership’s staff would stay on, and thanked them, saying: “Without them we would never have grown to be the store we are today.”
“We would like to express our sincere thanks to all our customers for their continued support,” Weaver said. “With your support and trust in us, you made us the successful dealership we have become.”
