Driving the news: Bakhtiari Auto Group has acquired Acura of Fremont in California (one of the top-performing Acura dealerships in the Western Region) from Bruce Kavich, according to deal advisors Haig Partners.

For context: After more than four decades in automotive retail, Kavich is selling to focus full-time on his rapidly growing customer retention software company, Carveeps, which he launched three years ago.

What they're saying: “The California market continues to impress, with a clear surge in demand for high-quality dealerships across the state,” said Jayson Crouch, Managing Director at Haig Partners.

Big picture: For dealership buyers, California's market dynamics are flipping. After years of dealers fleeing regulatory burdens, strong stores in prime markets are commanding premium valuations as buyers bet on long-term fundamentals over short-term policy noise.
