Driving the news: Bolton Automotive had sold Brookshire Hyundai in Brookshire, Texas, to 2Autogroup. The store will continue operating under the Brookshire Hyundai name, according to sell-side advisors from Pinnacle Mergers & Acquisitions.
For context: Bolton Automotive, led by King Bolton and Jeremy Soileau, chose to divest the store to free up capital for future acquisitions.
What they're saying: "As much as we like this store, we decided to have the capital prepared to redeploy on a better strategic fit in the future," said Jeremy Soileau, Bolton Automotive's COO and Operating Partner.
As for 2Autogroup, this acquisition deepens the company’s footprint in Texas and adds to a growing portfolio of stores across the Southwest U.S.
And Texas remains one of the most desirable states for automotive retailers.
The state's economy grew 4.8% in 2024, doubling the national growth rate of 2.4%, according to the Texas Comptroller's Office.
The state’s low tax burden is also attractive for dealership ownership and expansion.
