Tesla CEO Elon Musk shuts down rumors he’s being replaced

CDG News Alert (< 1 min. read)

Driving the news: Early this morning, Tesla $TSLA ( ▼ 3.38% ) board chair Robyn Denholm released a statement unequivocally denying a Wall Street Journal report that Tesla is pursuing recruitment firms to find a new CEO.

Elon Musk also called out the WSJ, saying their reporting on this matter was “an extremely bad breach of ethics” which produced a “deliberately false article.”

For context: Musk has taken on a growing list of roles—merging xAI with X and SpaceX, managing multiple ventures, and playing a pivotal role in launching the Trump Administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

However, the White House recently confirmed to the New York Post that Musk is stepping away from DOGE, which would allow him to make good on his promise of "allocating far more of my time to Tesla."
