Driving the news: Michael Joe Cannon and Ryan Mayer of Tameron Gulf Coast, a division of Cannon Motor Co., acquired dealerships in Mobile, Alabama, from Carlock Automotive in a February 23 deal.
For context: Tameron Gulf will keep the same names for Audi Mobile, Volkswagen of Mobile, and Volvo Cars Mobile.
The group owns dealerships in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, including two more in Mobile that sell Subaru and Nissan.
What they’re saying: “This combination of luxury and high-volume European import brands represents an exciting opportunity as we continue our expansion throughout the Southeast,” Cannon said in a statement.
Bottom line: The new acquisitions help strengthen Tameron Gulf’s southeast footprint. Cannon Motor operates nearly 40 dealerships in the same three states.
