Sébastien Jacquet

Driving the news: Stellantis $STLA ( ▲ 0.1% ) has tapped Sébastien Jacquet as its new chief quality officer as Antonio Filosa prepares to officially take over as CEO later this month.

For context: Jacquet steps up from his role as deputy chief engineering officer, where he's been running cross-platform projects from Paris.

  • The French executive brings nearly 25 years of automotive experience and was instrumental in launching Stellantis' STLA Medium platform.

  • He's also a longtime Groupe PSA veteran who stayed through the Fiat Chrysler merger.

Why it matters: Quality has become a major headache for Stellantis, with the company facing ongoing reputation issues around vehicle reliability. Jacquet's background in engineering and project management could be exactly what the automaker needs to address these problems, especially as Filosa works to reverse declining North American sales.
