CEO Tim Kuniskis describes the evolution as a bold new chapter that honors the legacy of Ram while redefining its future. (2 min. read)

Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis is on a mission to rejuvenate the brand–something the seasoned auto exec has already proven he’s capable of pulling off.

The details: Less than four months after returning to Ram as CEO, Kuniskis took to LinkedIn to share that he and his team have been busy shaping the “next evolution” of the brand.

  • The post indicates that the automaker will make 25 new product announcements over the next 18 months.

  • Kuniskis describes the evolution as a bold new chapter that honors the legacy of Ram while redefining its future.

What they’re saying: “There is never a level of complacency with Tim, so it doesn’t surprise me that his vision for an epic comeback with Ram includes 25 product announcements over the next 18 months…Tim always delivers the best in products with excitement and energy that I am sure will deliver the best that Ram can offer,” said Mike Bettenhausen, Chairman of the Stellantis National Dealer Council.

Why it matters: News of 25 new Ram product announcements will go a long way towards rejuvenating the brand, its dealer body, and customer base—in what Bettenhausen says is, “going to be a fun ride with Ram trucks that kick-ass, with industry-leading towing capacity and outrageous off-road capability.”

Between the lines: Ram—which recently celebrated its 2 millionth Ram 1500 assembled at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in Michigan—has made some significant strides after facing some challenges in 2024.

  • Ram 1500 saw retail sales increase 14% in Q1 versus the same period last year.

  • Retail sales for the Ram Heavy Duty 2500/3500 Q1 increased 18% year over year, making it the best Q1 for Heavy Duty since Q1 2022.

  • Ram ProMaster Q1 total sales increased 148% year over year, making it the best Q1 in total sales since Q1 2023..

Bottom line: Kuniskis—who is heavily credited with taking Dodge to the next level with the Hellcat V8—is highly regarded among Stellantis’ dealer body as a go-getter capable of leading the brand’s comeback efforts.
