Hyundai of Union City (formerly Bob Mayberry Hyundai)

First thing’s first: Bob Mayberry Hyundai in Monroe, North Carolina has been acquired by Pablo River Partners, a Jacksonville, Florida-based investment firm. The deal includes retail operations and approximately 28,000 square feet of facilities on 10 acres of real estate.

For context: The sale marks the end of Missy and Ingram Walters' lengthy tenure in retail automotive as they transition ownership to Charlie Tomm. Tomm is the chairman and CEO of Pablo River Partners after previously holding executive positions at several automotive groups, like Asbury Automotive Group, and Coggin Automotive Group.

What they’re saying: "After dedicating much of our lives to building this dealership and serving the Monroe community, Missy and I felt it was the right time to transition the business to new leadership," Ingram Walters said. "We know Charlie will be a terrific steward of the business we've built and will continue the dealership's legacy of excellence.

What next: Pablo River Partners has renamed the store to Hyundai of Union City, and plans to build upon the Walters family's foundation by investing in the facility while maintaining the dealership's existing team.
