Driving the news: Krause Auto Group acquired two stores in metro Atlanta from Group 1 Automotive in separate transactions that closed on June 30 and July 16.
For context: The intricate transaction started with a four-store acquisition by Group 1 Automotive.
In that June 30 deal, Group 1 acquired Stone Mountain Toyota in Lilburn, Georgia, and Stone Mountain Honda in Snellville, Georgia, along with Toyota South Atlanta and Honda South, both in Morrow, Georgia.
Doherty Automotive Group, of Lakeland, Florida, sold the four-pack to Group 1.
Group 1 then sold Toyota South to Krause Auto on June 30; then sold Honda South to the Alpharetta, Georgia-based group on July 16.
The dealership websites list the new names as Krause Toyota South Atlanta and Krause Honda South.

Worth noting: Krause Auto Group did not respond to requests for comments.
Group 1 today (August 19) said it had no further comment on the Krause leg of the deal.
In a July 23 response to an email asking about the four stores and possible connection, the retailer told CDG News that: “Atlanta is a buoyant, healthy economy, supported by population, job, and income growth that outpace the nation.”
