Kia’s 2025 EV6 refresh bets on style and substance over lower prices
Kia isn’t chasing the cheapest EV—it's betting buyers still care about the right upgrades. (2 min. read)

Kia just dropped pricing and details for the refreshed 2025 EV6, and on paper, it checks a lot of boxes—sharper looks, more range, better tech, and U.S. assembly for most trims.
By the numbers: Kia’s new EV6 starts at $42,900 and climbs to $63,800 if you want all the bells, whistles, and horsepower.
So, what’s new?
Under the hood: The updates go beyond aesthetics. Kia’s added:
A larger battery offering up to 319 miles of range (RWD)
Faster, easier charging with NACS compatibility
And a relocated charging port for better station access
On the outside: Expect redesigned front and rear ends, new lighting with Kia’s “Star Map” signature, sharper body lines, and fresh wheel designs.
Inside: Upgrades include dual 12.3-inch displays and Kia’s next-gen ccNC infotainment system, complete with OTA updates, streaming, gaming, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
For the performance crowd: The EV6 GT packs 601 horsepower (hp), with up to 641 hp in GT mode. Plus, a "Virtual Gear Shift" for added driving theatrics.
Oh—and most trims are now assembled in Georgia. The GT still ships in, but the rest? All-American made.
Why it matters: Kia isn’t just refreshing a model—it’s repositioning itself in an EV market where pricing pressure hits harder every quarter.
Here’s what that looks like in real time:
Tesla is still cutting prices.
Chevy’s pushing Bolts below $25,000.
And used EVs are flooding the market with tax credits and sub-$30,000 deals.
Digging deeper: In a landscape like this, every dollar counts—and a $42,000+ EV has to do more than just look good, it has to feel worth it.
Kia knows that, which is why it’s not trying to outprice Tesla or GM—it’s betting buyers will pay for style and substance.
Bottom line: Kia’s playing the long game—banking on design, tech, and U.S. production to stand out in a market chasing discounts.
