Driving the news: Eric Johnson, owner of his namesake Johnson Automotive Group, bought a dealership from Don Brookfield in a deal that closed May 6.
For context: Johnson Automotive purchased Brookfield Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Benton Harbor sits along the shores of Lake Michigan on the state’s west side, about 200 miles southwest of Detroit.
The store name will remain.
Jennifer Rafael and Mike Funk, of Dealer Solutions Mergers & Acquisitions, represented Johnson in the deal.
What they’re saying: The acquisition doubles Johnson’s dealership count to two.
“I’m excited about the future with Brookfield CDJR and look forward to continuing to grow…,” Johnson said in a release.
