Driving the news: Victory Automotive Group, of Ann Arbor, Mich., purchased three dealerships in its own backyard from Germain Motor Co. The deal closed Aug. 3.

For context: Purchased were Germain Honda of Ann Arbor, Volkswagen of Ann Arbor, and Audi Porsche Ann Arbor, all in that college town that is home to the University of Michigan.

  • Victory Automotive renamed the stores Victory Honda Ann Arbor, Volkswagen Ann Arbor, and Audi Ann Arbor and Porsche Ann Arbor, the group confirmed to CDG News by email.

  • The dealerships are about two miles away from Michigan Stadium.

  • Germain Motor, of Columbus, Ohio, exited the state with the sale.

  • The Tim Lamb Group represented the sellers.

Worth noting: Victory Automotive purchased a Nissan store in Connecticut in an Aug. 31 deal, while it divested a Nissan store in Indiana on Aug. 10.

The group also purchased a Honda dealership in Beckley, W. Va., in June.
