Driving the news: Joseph Catalanotto of Generation Auto Group purchased two New Jersey dealerships from Nielsen Automotive Group in a deal that closed on January 28.
For context: Generation acquired Nielsen Nissan of Denville and Nielsen Infiniti of Denville, both in New Jersey.
The dealerships are the second and third stores in New Jersey for Generation Auto, which is based in New York.
Generation renamed the dealerships Rock Ridge Nissan and Rock Ridge Infiniti.
What they’re saying: Attorney Seth L. Dobbs, Esq. of the Fox Rothschild law firm, represented the buyers in the transaction. Dobbs told CDG News that the acquisitions represent further expansion into the New Jersey market.
Bottom line: Dobbs noted that the past several years have been both busy and successful for dealership transactions, and this year has continued that trend at an even faster pace. He said deal activity has been particularly strong and expects the momentum to carry through the remainder of the year.
