Driving the news: Garber Automotive Group acquired a Stellantis dealership from Dave Rodgers of Greiger’s Motor Sales in a deal that closed May 4.
For context: Greiger’s Motor Sales, a dealership selling the Stellantis brand in Valparaiso, Indiana, gives Michigan-based Garber Automotive its second Indiana location.
Garber renamed the store Garber Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Valparaiso.
The deal marks Garber’s 26th franchised location, according to an announcement on the group’s website.
Brad Hallal, the store’s general manager, will stay on.
What they’re saying: Richard Garber, president of Garber Management Group, the umbrella company that includes Garber Automotive, said the group has “tremendous respect” for Rodgers and the team he built.
“For more than 60 years, Grieger Motors has been a trusted part of the northwest Indiana community,” Garber wrote. “That kind of legacy is built on honesty, transparency, and treating people the right way, values that deeply resonate with who we are at Garber.”
Bottom line: We’ve recently reported that Stellantis looks like it’s on the upswing, and we’ve certainly seen quite a few stores selling the brand change hands in recent weeks.
