Driving the news: Feldman Automotive Group purchased four Ohio dealerships from Firelands Auto Group in a deal that closed May 5.
For context: The deal included Firelands Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Firelands Toyota, and Firelands Honda, all in Sandusky, Ohio, as well as Firelands Chevrolet in Vermilion, Ohio.
Feldman will retain the store names.
The Honda dealership will relocate to a new 40,000-square-foot facility, with an aim to open this fall, according to the release.
The deal marks the largest acquisition to date so far for the group that’s based in New Hudson, Michigan.
What they’re saying: CEO Jay Feldman said in a release that the group was proud to welcome the new dealerships and family to their group, especially two new brands.
“Also, by introducing Honda and Toyota to our lineup for the first time, we are expanding choice and improving accessibility for all our customers, including access to those in Southeast Michigan as well,” Feldman said.
Bottom line: The acquisition, which also included the group’s 10th Chevrolet dealership, allows Feldman Automotive to strengthen its presence in Ohio while expanding its portfolio.
The group now owns more than 20 auto and RV/Airstream dealerships, including in Indiana.
Feldman also owns six dealerships in Ohio with actor Mark Wahlberg.
