Driving the news: Clay Carlock of Carlock Automotive Group purchased Carver Toyota of Columbus in Taylorsville, Indiana, from Roy Carver and Ashley Jannie. The deal closed March 19.

For context: This is Carlock’s first dealership in Indiana.

  • The store was renamed Carlock Toyota of Columbus.

  • Jannie is expected to keep working at the dealership, Mark Shackelford Jr. of Performance Brokerage Services told CDG News.

  • A team of three from Performance’s Midwest Office East, including Shackelford Jr., represented the sellers, and another team of three from Performance’s Southeast office advised the buyers.

Bottom line: The deal highlights continued interest in Toyota dealerships, Shackelford Jr. said. “We hear that every day, that people want a Toyota dealership,” he said.
