UVeye, the automatic vehicle inspector, and Carfax, the holder of a vehicle’s history, announced yesterday (June 23) that they are teaming up to give car care program dealers instant access to maintenance history, recalls, and more.
Kinda like if a human went for an X-ray: Instead of having to remember the ankle sprain from 2009, the doc just scans the ankle, and the whole history pops up.
Driving the news: Back to vehicles, UVeye's computer vision technology, which scans more than three million vehicles a month, paired with Carfax’s maintenance records, will give service advisors a more complete and instant picture of the vehicle’s health.
As UVeye analyzes tires, the underbody, and the exterior, the Carfax integration will call out overdue maintenance items, unresolved recalls, and vehicle condition concerns, all in a single workflow.
In other words, to use the doctor analogy again, they won’t need to step away and call the old office for that ankle sprain record, because it’s already there.

What they’re saying: Amir Hever, CEO and UVeye co-founder, said in a release that the company’s goal has always been to give dealers “the most complete picture of every vehicle the moment it arrives in their service lane.”
“Through this integration with CARFAX, we’re able to make that picture even sharper," Hever said. “Combining UVeye’s real-world condition intelligence with CARFAX’s trusted historical data inside a single workflow allows advisors to make data-driven recommendations the moment a vehicle enters the lane…”
Bottom line: Dealers using the service will be able to provide greater transparency and more proactive service suggestions. This amounts to consumers getting those recommendations coming from documented history and condition data.
