Driving the news: Cable Dahmer Automotive purchased a longstanding dealership from Greg Maurer in a deal that closed Sept. 22.
For context: Purchased was Dave Willey Chevrolet GMC in Lawrence, Kentucky, east of Lexington.
The dealership was renamed Cable Dahmer Chevrolet GMC of Lawrence.
The late Dave Willey opened the dealership in the 1970s and Maurer came to work there in the 1990s and eventually took over ownership, according to a Sept. 22 story from the Lawrence Journal-World
Cable Dahmer also bought a Kia dealership about three miles away from the new one in 2025, according to the story.
Paul Kechnie, Matt Willis, and Jamie Farley, of Performance Brokerage Services, represented the sellers in the transaction.
What they’re saying: In a post on the group’s website, Cable Dahmer wrote, “New Name. Same Great Team.”
“The sign out front has changed, but the people you work with have not,” the post said. “The same sales, service, and parts team you already know is here, now backed by the Cable Dahmer Automotive Group.”
