Driving the news: Carvana $CVNA ( ▲ 0.53% ) has acquired its fourth new car franchise—another CDJR store, this time in Atlanta—adding to a rapid-fire string of franchise purchases that started earlier this year.
The details: The acquisition marks Carvana's fourth CDJR store and its entry into a new region. After buying its first franchise in Arizona, Carvana picked up a Dallas CDJR in September and a Southern California location last month. Terms of this deal are undisclosed.
For context:
The Southeast is a hot bed for M&A activity right now thanks to business-friendly policies and demographic tailwinds.
Metro Atlanta employment has grown 8% since early 2020, putting it among the top large metros for job growth—meaning more prime-age, commuting workers who rely on personal vehicles.
And the 11-county metro area hit 5.29 million residents in 2025, adding roughly 64,400 people versus 2024 and continuing over a decade of population growth.
"As our first market, Atlanta holds a significant place in Carvana's history, and we have built a robust retail presence here over the years just as ADESA has established a strong local presence on the wholesale side." said Brian Boyd, Carvana’s Senior Vice President of Inventory said in statement earlier this year.
Worth noting: CDG News originally learned of this development after spotting a website domain for the store.
We reached out to Carvana for more information, but representatives declined an interview at this time.
