Driving the news: Serra Automotive acquired a Toyota dealership from AutoCanada in a deal that closed June 22.
For context: Purchased was Toyota of Lincolnwood, in that Illinois city near Chicago.
Serra Automotive renamed the dealership Serra Toyota of Lincolnwood.
The Presidio Group advised the sellers in the transaction.
AutoCanada, which operates under its Leader Automotive Group subsidiary in the U.S., sold Kia of Lincolnwood and Hyundai of Lincolnwood, in April.
It also sold 13 dealerships in 2025 for $82.7 million, as part of its plan to exit the country amid struggles to keep its dealerships profitable.
AutoCanada/Leader still owns 10 dealerships in Illinois, according to its website.

“This was an attractive opportunity for us in a market where we wanted to grow,” Joe Serra, chairman of Serra Automotive, said in a release. “Toyota is a proven brand with long-term strength, and we liked the positioning of this store in the Chicago suburbs...”
Bottom line: George Karolis, president of The Presidio Group, said in a statement that buyer interest for Toyota dealerships remains strong.
“As one of the industry’s best-performing brands, Toyota stores continue to command significant attention in the buy-sell market, particularly when located in major metropolitan areas such as Chicago,” Karolis said.
