Mercedes-Benz has slashed prices on EQ EV models—as the automaker prepares to halt U.S. production of all but one vehicle in its EQ lineup.

The details: Pricing for the all-electric EQ lineup (once central to Mercedes’ electrification strategy) has been cut as much as $15,300, shifting from 2025 to 2026 models.

  • Pricing for both the EQE sedan and EQE SUV decreased from $76,050 and $79,050, respectively, to $66,100.

  • The EQS sedan—which has the least price reduction of all affected models—has gone from $105,550 for the 2025 model to $101,400 for the 2026 model.

  • Pricing for the EQS SUV has seen the most drastic reduction, going from $106,400 to $91,100.

Why it matters: Mercedes-Benz’s EQ model price cuts are likely a welcomed move for Mercedes dealers, many who might still have 2025 models on their lots they’re struggling to sell as they brace for 2026 model inventories.

Between the lines: Mercedes-Benz will indefinitely pause production of all its EQ models in the U.S. September 1, with the exception of the EQB SUV—as the automaker looks to navigate several headwinds in the U.S. EV market.

What they’re saying: "We are temporarily closing U.S. order banks for the EQS Sedan, EQS SUV, EQE Sedan, and EQE SUV to align with customer and market demand," said a Mercedes-Benz Spokesperson (via Car and Driver).

Between the lines: The federal $7,500 EV tax credit—which has helped lure buyers to electric vehicles—will expire September 30, eliminating one of the sector’s biggest draws.

  • Mercedes’ overall EV sales dropped 50% in the first half of 2025 compared to last year—with a lot of that decline attributed to the EQ’s poor market performance.

Looking ahead: The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA—which ushers in an entirely new era of all-electric Mercedes vehicles—could help turn things around for the brand in the sector, depending on the starting price. Initial reviews have been highly favorable of the entry-level sedan, which is set to go on sale later this year.
